Brigades reinforced with more than 100 nurses and will expand coverage in schools, neighborhoods and points of high influx

With an initial stock of 105 thousand vaccines, the Ministry of Health of Coahuila will launch a mass vaccination campaign against measles starting next week, aimed primarily at children and the population with incomplete schemes, as part of a preventive strategy to avoid outbreaks in the state.

The Secretary of Health of Coahuila, Eliud Aguirre, reported that the day will be deployed simultaneously in different regions of the state, with the aim of expanding coverage and facilitating access to immunization, particularly in sectors where there is a lag in the schemes.

The strategy includes the installation of modules in schools, neighborhoods, shopping centers and points of high influx, such as the Saltillo recreational route, in addition to house-to-house tours to identify minors and people who do not have the complete vaccination schedule.

STATE REINFORCEMENT WITH DEPLOYMENT OF PERSONNEL

To guarantee the operability of the campaign, the state agency incorporated more than 100 new nurses, who join the existing staff to form brigades that will work in a coordinated manner in various municipalities.

The Minister of Health specified that the vaccination will be carried out in close coordination with health sector institutions and educational authorities, in order to facilitate access in schools and strengthen the preventive culture among the community.

In the case of minors, it will be essential to have the express authorization of mothers and fathers, in accordance with the established protocols, in order to ensure compliance with the health and legal provisions in force.

PREVENTION IN THE REGIONAL CONTEXT

The campaign is reinforced in a regional context where cases of measles have been detected outside Coahuila, which has ignited health alerts in different entities of the country. Faced with this scenario, the Ministry of Health stressed the importance of maintaining high levels of immunization, especially in the child population, considered the key group to prevent the reintroduction and spread of the virus.

Measles is a highly contagious disease that can lead to serious complications, so state authorities reiterated the call to the population to review their vaccination cards and go to the points that will be enabled in the coming days.

With this intensive day, the State Government seeks to shield Coahuila from possible epidemiological risks and consolidate broad coverage that guarantees collective protection.
