The Festival of the Discada and Classic Cars will mark the start of tourism in General Cepeda this Sunday.
The mayor of General Cepeda, Mayra Verónica Ramos Rodríguez, stressed that this weekend the Discada Festival will be held, along with the Classic Cars of the Desert event, marking the start of the tourist activities of the year in the municipality.
The mayor stressed that the festival de la Discada will be the main axis of Sunday, an event designed to strengthen social coexistence and generate an important economic spillover. The appointment will take place at 1:00 pm in front of the tourism office of the municipality.
The celebration will be held simultaneously with the exhibition of classic cars, which will attract different audiences and extend the stay of visitors in the municipal capital
How many vehicles can be seen at the Classic Car Expo?
Ramos Rodríguez recalled that in the previous edition of the automobile event, around 120 vehicles participated. Although the final number of registrants for this year is not yet available, he stressed that all the participating teams are originally from General Cepeda, which guarantees that the economic benefit stays in the municipality.
The registration of participants and the estimation of the economic spill are in charge of Juan Carlos, the citizen responsible for the organization.
How has tourism in the municipality progressed?
In the tourism field, he recognized the growth of lodging options through platforms such as Airbnb, although he pointed out that a limited hotel infrastructure persists; so far, the interest of new investors has not materialized.
