According to preliminary reports, an advance team of the virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, suffered an accident in Monclova, Coahuila.
On the morning of this Friday, June 14, a convoy with the team of the virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, was involved in a car accident in Monclova, Coahuila, while en route to San Juan de Sabinas. There is a report of one deceased elderly person.
The mayor of the municipality of Monclova, Mario Dávila, confirmed that it was the team of the Morena party member, who was traveling in the same convoy but in a different vehicle.
“It seems they did not stop…,” said the mayor, who confirmed that the Morena team’s van was traveling at excessive speed.
According to local press, the virtual president-elect stopped at the site to verify what had happened and was present during the rescue maneuvers of the injured people.
It emerged that Claudia Sheinbaum’s convoy was traveling on the Eliseo Mendoza Berrueto bypass, but upon reaching the junction with the road to Candela, they collided with a private van.
The impact was brutal, causing the death of one person traveling in this unit, with at least 4 injured reported.
Local press reports that among the injured are security guards of Sheinbaum Pardo, who were transferred to private hospitals for care.
Until noon today, the Morena party member has not released any message related to the accident on her social networks.
Sheinbaum Pardo arrived this morning in Monterrey, Nuevo León, to head to the state of Coahuila and participate along with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the presentation of the Justice Plan for Pasta de Conchos.
It was around 1 p.m. that Claudia Sheinbaum’s spokesperson, Arturo Dávila, confirmed the incident, through his social networks.
“We inform you that unfortunately, the vehicle in which Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum’s advance team was traveling had a road accident in Monclova Coahuila, resulting in several people injured. Upon being informed of the accident, she stopped to learn about the condition of the people, who were already being attended to by municipal and state emergency teams,” he indicated in his communication.
After indicating that they deeply regret that a person died in the other vehicle, those traveling in the two impacted vehicles are receiving attention from the federal and state government, as well as Sheinbaum’s own team.
